Rae Barnes

My name is Rachel Barnes, although often known as Rae. I am 25 years old. I have been using cameras since I was small, although I became more serious about my work when I turned 18. My first SLR was an Olympus OM10, which enabled me to learn and work on many of the basic techniques of using an SLR camera. I used this until 2002, when unfortunately the camera was stolen. By this point I had discovered a passion for photographing the finer details of the world around me. Eventually we were able to replace the Olympus cameras with a Canon EOS 5, and soon became fond of the features, and its ease of use. In 2004 we were able to move into the digital world, when we purchased a Canon EOS 300D. This was partially prompted by the birth of our son, Benjamin, as we were fully aware that we would be constantly recording his development through photographs. My love of working with digital media grew as I worked with the new EOS, as did my understanding of how I used the camera affected the quality of my work. The instant results enabled me to see how each different setting would affect the quality of the final product, the photograph. We eventually were able to further our Camera collection with a Canon EOS 20D, which, with those extra features, I have been able to continue to learn. Each photograph that I take I strive to be a photograph that I would be proud to display on someone's wall. While my style differs so much from others, it is how I see the world, and my passion for photographing this means I can share this vision.I hope you enjoy my work.
